summary dismissal (countable and uncountable, plural summary dismissals)

  1. (law) The determination by a court that no relevant factual issues are being presented, and that the case to be decided has no basis and so cannot be allowed to proceed.
  2. The act of being instantly fired from employment for an inexcusable offence against policy.
