  1. (medicine, rare) A fear of particular icons or symbols; systems that use symbolism, such as artificial intelligence; or that one's own speech or actions may be interpreted as having symbolic meanings.

      It was a complete confessional somersault. In 1890 Dr. Parson seemed to have an attack of symbolophobia. Fortunately for him and the Church, it did not last long.
