- to act as a continuation; to pick up, to take over, to follow on
- Uppföljaren tar vid där den första filmen slutade
- The sequel picks up where the first movie ended
- Där hjärnan tar slut, där tar nävarna vid
- Where the brain ends, the fists take over
- Hon tog vid där hon slutat dagen innan
- She continued where she'd left off the day before
