transfer window (plural transfer windows)

  1. (space science) A period of time during which a spacecraft orbiting one celestial body can travel to a different body and enter orbit around it without excessive expenditure of fuel or reaction mass.
  2. (soccer) A period of time during the year in which soccer players may be bought or sold between professional clubs.
