English[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From transgender +‎ -dom.

Noun[edit]

transgenderdom (countable and uncountable, plural transgenderdoms)

  1. The state of being transgender; transgenderness.
    • 2015 May, Michael Wolff, “An All-American Identity Crisis”, in British GQ, page 110:
It is absolutely possible that this is all made up, that Bruce Jenner is as much on his way to transgenderdom as I am. Or, he is. Or he isn't really, but why not? That is, maybe the idea floated out there seemed so good that he just had to go with it.
  2. The world or sphere of transgender individuals, often collectively.
