trayline (plural traylines)

  1. A system of food preparation, used in hospitals, in which trays move along an assembly line.

      The trays for the test unit at first were assembled on a separate trayline within the main kitchen; however, this process consumed excessive space and time, so the operation was transferred to the regular trayline.
