- The agricultural cultivation of non-grass (non-grain) crops including certain food crops and ornamental plants and flowers, especially by means of specialised equipment such as greenhouses; also the branch of agriculture in which these crops are cultivated.
Usage notes[edit]
In Dutch, tuinbouw is often perceived as being distinct from landbouw (“agriculture”), which includes akkerbouw and veeteelt.
