Welsh[edit]
Etymology[edit]
unig (“only”) + rhyw (“kind, sort”)
Pronunciation[edit]
- (North Wales) IPA(key): /ɨ̞ˈnɪɡrɪu̯/, /ɨ̞ˈnɪɡrɨu̯/
- (South Wales) IPA(key): /ɪˈnɪɡrɪu̯/
Usage notes[edit]
Despite being written with a "y", the vowel here is generally pronounced /ɪ/ in the north as tends to be the case when "y" precedes "w".
Adjective[edit]
unigryw (feminine singular unigryw, plural unigryw, not comparable)
Derived terms[edit]
- unigrywiaeth (“uniqueness”)
Mutation[edit]

Note: Some of these forms may be hypothetical. Not every possible mutated form of every word actually occurs. |
