vacuum airship (plural vacuum airships)

  1. (aviation, astronautics) An aircraft in the form of a rigid airship that, instead of a pressurised gas, is filled with a vacuum. This is only viable in low pressure environments, due to construction constraints needed to withstand ambient atmospheric pressure.
