Etymology[edit]
Named after Bulgarian docent of mineralogy at the Higher Institute of Mining and Geology, Sofia, Dr. Vasil Atanasov (1933–2015), + -ite.

- (mineralogy) An isometric-hextetrahedral steel gray mineral containing copper, palladium, sulfur, and tellurium.
