vorsagen (weak, third-person singular present sagt vor, past tense sagte vor, past participle vorgesagt, auxiliary haben)

  1. (transitive) to say something for someone else to repeat
    Du musst nicht alles nachsagen, was er dir vorsagt.
    You don't have to repeat everything he tells you.
  2. (transitive) to say something aforehand, (especially) to reveal the answer to a posed question or problem (be it to spoil the quiz or to help someone)
    Nicht vorsagen! Ich will das selber lösen.
    Don’t tell me the answer! I want to solve this myself.
  3. (transitive, fairly rare) to recite
    Synonyms: aufsagen, rezitieren
