- day, calendar day (period from midnight to midnight, as one day of the calendar)
- day, 24 hours (period of 24 hours, as a unit of time)
- (astronomy) day (rotational period of a planet)
Usage notes[edit]
- The word vuorokausi on Earth means a period of 24 hours; see also päivä (“day”) which may also refer to the period of daylight.
- In Finnish, vuorokausi is commonly used where English uses multiples of "24 hours": kolme vuorokautta (“72 hours”).
