  • (image processing): Introduced in David L. Donoho's 1999 paper "Wedgelets: nearly minimax estimation of edges".

wedgelet (plural wedgelets)

  1. A small wedge.
  2. (image processing) A kind of geometrical wavelet used in image processing.
  3. (astronomy) One of a set of wedge-like structures (barometric ridges) that compose a substorm current wedge.
