From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *s/g-(y/r)a (seek; search; look for). Cognate with Burmese ရှာ (hra, look for), Nuosu (shep, search), Lisu ꓧꓪ (xwɑ, look for) and Nusu xɹa³³ (look for). Compare Lhao Vo qho , Zaiwa ho.
