xanthomyeloma (plural xanthomyelomas or xanthomyelomata)

  1. (pathology, oncology) A lipid-filled myeloma associated primarily with tendon sheaths.
    • 1924, International Medical and Surgical Survey, page 650:
      Xanthomyelomas are in most cases connected with tendon sheaths and constitute the commonest type of tendon-sheath tumor.
    • 1925, Royal Society of Medicine (Great Britain), Proceedings of the Royal Society of Medicine, page 17:
      The complete absence of fat from the tumour seemed to show that it differed from a xanthomyeloma of a tendon sheath.
