  1. A visual disorder in which things appear yellowish.
    • 1883, Louis Lewin, The Untoward Effects of Drugs, page 98:
      An icteric discoloration of the sclerotic — a quite common symptom in xanthopia from arsenical poisoning — is very seldom observed.
    • 1933, Henry Laurens, The Physiological Effects of Radiant Energy, number 62, page 153:
      There is sensation of foreign body irritation, more or less photophobia and lacrimation, frequently persistent after images, and occasionally scotoma, erythema and xanthopia.
