Calque of Chinese 黃茶黄茶 (huángchá).

Noun[edit]

yellow tea (countable and uncountable, plural yellow teas)

  1. A Chinese tea produced in a similar manner to green tea but with the added steps of encasing and steaming the tea leaves, resulting in slower oxidisation and a mellower taste
  2. A slightly oxidised Korean tea, made in a similar way to oolong or black tea but with less oxidisation
