Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Igboid *ò-lúCí-gbùCò, from the Proto-Igboid root *lũ̂- (to be bitter). Cognate with Ogbah òlúgbù, Izi olubu, Ika òlúgbù.[1] Further cognates include Iko à-lúbàrɛ́.
