Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Tocharian *ālye- (“other”), from Proto-Indo-European *h₂élyos. Cognate with Latin alius, English else. This root has many reflexes in Tocharian B, such as allek, aletstse, alyiyatstse, and alokälymi.
