An Egyptian word. Compare Arabic بسر (busr, unripe dates), Classical Syriac ܒܣܪܐ (*busrā, unripe grape), Jewish Babylonian Aramaic בֻּסְרָא (busrā) and Hebrew בֹּסֶר (boser, unripe grape).
