Ancient Greek[edit]

Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Unknown. The formal agreement with *καλαμο-μίνθη (*kalamo-mínthē) does not permit a conclusion. A Pre-Greek word is most probable, because of the suffix and the meaning.
