Borrowed from a Chukotkan language, possibly Alutor юӈюӈ (juŋjuŋ), augmented with -чӽ (-čχ, diminutive suffix). Ultimately from Proto-Chukotko-Kamchatkan *juŋ(juŋ) (whale).
