Possibly derived from Old Church Slavonic прѣчистъ (prěčistŭ). By surface analysis, пре- (pre-) +‎ чи́стий (čýstyj). Compare Russian пречистый (prečistyj), Bulgarian пречист (prečist), Macedonian пречисти (prečisti).
