Etymology[edit]

Probably borrowed from Polish skandować, from German skandieren, from French scander, from Late Latin scandō,[1] with -ува́ти (-uváty) ending. Compare Russian сканди́ровать (skandírovatʹ), Belarusian скандава́ць (skandavácʹ).
