Old Armenian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

As noticed by J̌ahukyan, the constituents are clearly from Ancient Greek ἀγκών (ankṓn, bend, angle, etc.) and κορώνη (korṓnē, crown; end) +‎ -աւոր (-awor), so that the formation means something like “crowned arch”.

Noun[edit]

անգոն կոռոնաւոր (angon koṙonawor)

  1. one of the seven belts of heaven in ancient astronomy
