Etymology

Borrowed from Parthian 𐫅𐫁 (db /⁠daβ⁠/, trick, deception), which is cognate with Avestan 𐬛𐬀𐬠- (dab-, to deceive), Sanskrit दभ् (dabh). Related to the first part of դաւաճան (dawačan).
