Ultimately from Latin optiō, altered with the suffix ־ציה (tzia).

The financial term came through English option.

אוֹפְּצִיָה (óptziaf (plural indefinite אוֹפְּצִיּוֹת, singular construct אוֹפְּצִיַּת־)

  1. An option: a choice, an alternative.
  2. (finance) An option: a contract giving one party the right to buy or sell a certain asset at a certain price.
