Borrowed from Demotic wꜣḥ-jb-rꜥ, composed of wꜣḥ (to endure) +‎ jb (heart) +‎ rꜥ (Ra), thus meaning ‘The heart of Ra endures’. Compare Ancient Greek Ἁπρίης (Hapríēs), Οὔαφρις (Oúaphris), Ουἀφρη (Ouaphrē), Imperial Aramaic 𐡅‎𐡇𐡐𐡓𐡏 (wḥprʿ), and Phoenician 𐤅𐤇𐤐𐤓𐤏 (wḥprʿ) from the same source.
