      az qayyim-i ān pursīdam ki ujrat-i īn tēm čand ast? guft har sāl bīst hazār dīnār-i mağribī būd, ammā īn sā'at gōša'ē az ān xarāb šuda imārat mē-kunand har māh yak hazār dīnār hāsil kunad ya'nī dawāzdah hazār dīnār u guftand ki dar īn šahr buzurgtar az īn u ba miqdār-i īn dawīst xān bāšad.
      I asked its guardian, "How much is the rent for this caravanserai?" He said that it used to be twenty thousand Maghrebi dinars per year, but now a part of [the building] has collapsed and is undergoing repairs, so every month a thousand dinars are paid, that is to say twelve thousand dinars [per year]. And it is said that in this city, there are two hundred caravenserais which are bigger than or of the same size as this.
