Relative adjective (nisba) composed of ثِيُوقْراط (ṯiyūqrāṭ, theocrat) +‎ ـِيّ (-iyy); derived from Ancient Greek θεοκρατία (theokratía), from θεος (theos, god”, “deity) + -κρατία (-kratía, power, rule).
