درابة (darrābef (plural درابات (darrābāt))

  1. a kind shop-front shutter, store-front fence
  2. an elevated area in front of buildings to sit
    • 2008 February 17, “حكايات رمضان "أيام زمان"..”, in eSyria[1] (in Arabic):
      «هيا بنا لنجلس على "الدرابة" ونتكلم». و"الدرّابة": هي مكان مرتفع في ساحة القرية مخصص للجلوس
      “Come to us to sit on the darrāba and talk!” And the darrāba is an elevated place on the village square destined for sitting.
