Inherited from Sanskrit सिन्धु (sindhu). Compare Khowar [script needed] (sin) and Urdu سِنْدھ (sindh). Doublet of سِنْدھ (sindh).

Usage notes[edit]

This term is mainly referred to the part of the river below Kalabagh; see اَٹَک (aṭak), for the part of the river above Kalabagh.
