مُتِمّ (mutimm) (feminine مُتِمَّة (mutimma), masculine plural مُتِمُّونَ (mutimmūna), feminine plural مُتِمَّات (mutimmāt))

  1. active participle of أَتَمَّ (ʔatamma)
    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 61:8:
      يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللّٰهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَاللّٰهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ
      yurīdūna liyuṭfiʔū nūra llāhi bi-ʔafwāhihim wa-llāhu mutimmu nūrihi walaw kariha l-kāfirūna
      They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.
