Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀘𑀼𑀮𑁆𑀮𑀻 (cullī), 𑀘𑀼𑀮𑁆𑀮𑀺 (culli), from Sanskrit चुल्ली (cullī), borrowed from Dravidian. Compare Bengali চুলা (cula).
