Etymology[edit]
From ܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ (allāhā, “God”) + ܠܵܐ (lā, “not”) + ܥܵܒ݂ܹܕ݂ (ˁāḇēḏ, “do”), literally “May God not do (it)!”.
