Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘢𑘰𑘨𑘲𑘭 (pārīsa), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀧𑀭𑀺𑀉𑀲𑀺𑀅 (pariusia), 𑀧𑀭𑀺𑀯𑀼𑀲𑀺𑀅 (parivusia), from Sanskrit पर्युषित (paryuṣita).
