Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀲𑀝𑁆𑀝 (saṭṭa), probably ultimately from Sanskrit सार्थ (sārtha, “wealthy, opulent”). Cognate with Nepali साटो (sāṭo), Gujarati સાટું (sāṭũ).
