Borrowed from Classical Persian حدّ (hadd), from Arabic حَدّ (ḥadd). Compare Bengali হদ্দ (hoddo), Gujarati હદ (had), Marathi हद्द (hadda), Punjabi ਹੱਦ (hadda) / حد (hadd).
