Borrowed from Classical Persian آرام (ārām). Cognate with Assamese আৰাম (aram), Odia ଆରାମ (aramô), Hindi आराम (ārām) Gujarati આરામ (ārām), Marathi आराम (ārām), Punjabi ਅਰਾਮ (arām), Sindhi آرام (ārām).
