Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀉𑀝𑁆𑀝 (uṭṭa), from Sanskrit उष्ट्र (uṣṭra, “camel”), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *úštras. Doublet of શુતર (śutar) and ઉષ્ટ્ર (uṣṭra). Cognate with Hindustani اونٹ / ऊँट (ū̃ṭ) and Sindhi اُٺُ (uṭhu)
