Etymology[edit]
According to Fähnrich, a reduplication of *თურ- (*tur-), from Proto-Kartvelian *tur-. Cognate with Svan თუ̂ირ (tûir, “steam, vapour”).[1]
Compare also Mingrelian თილთილი (tiltili, “forst, hoar frost”) (from Georgian?).
