Ge'ez[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Inconclusively connected to Arabic سُوس (sūs, “moth, worm”). Ge'ez ዕፄ (ʿəṣ́e) also has this meaning but compares to عُثَّة (ʕuṯṯa). Compare Ge'ez ጻጹት (ṣaṣut, “gnat; red ant”).
