Etymology[edit]
From Pali brahma (“Brahma”) + vihāra (“abode”), equivalent to ព្រហ្ម (prum) + វិហារ (vihiə). Cognate with Thai พรหมวิหาร (prom-wí-hǎan).

- (Buddhism) the name of the four virtues that are practiced by brahmas and that one who wants to be as pure as a brahma should practice, namely:
- មេត្តា (meittaa): benevolence, loving kindness
- ករុណា (kaʼrunaa): compassion,
- មុទិតា (mutitaa): empathetic joy,
- ឧបេក្ខា (ʼupeekkhaa): equanimity.
