  1. The 20th letter and 12th consonant of the Tai Tham Pali alphabet. In Pali it represents the unvoiced, aspirated retroflex consonant /ʈʰ/, written <ṭh> in the Roman script.

Usage notes[edit]

As the second or subsequent element of a consonant cluster, this letter is usually reduced to its bottom half, the tail. This subscript form has its own encoding in Unicode, namely as the character . The regional variation of the letter (ṭha) is more visible than the subtle difference between it and the cluster ᨭᩛ formed with (ṭa).
