From 秘(ひ)め (hime, “連(れん)用(よう)形(けい) (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of the verb 秘(ひ)める (himeru).”) + 事(こと) (koto). The koto changes to goto as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
