Pronunciation[edit]
Proper noun[edit]
你國
- Used other than figuratively or idiomatically: see 你 (nǐ), 國/国 (guó).
- (Mainland China, Internet slang, neologism, sarcastic or offensive) "Your China"; "Not my China"
- 不解決問題而是解決提出問題的人,沒有比這更你國特色的了。 [MSC, trad.]
- Bù jiějué wèntí érshì jiějué tíchū wèntí de rén, méiyǒu bǐ zhè gèng nǐguó tèsè de le. [Pinyin]
- "Solving" the one who brings up the problem rather than actually solving the problem ― nothing is more your-China characteristic than this one.
不解决问题而是解决提出问题的人,没有比这更你国特色的了。 [MSC, simp.]
Usage notes[edit]
- Generally used by Chinese netizens to retort against ultranationalistic commentators who tend to use the bureaucratic term 我國/我国 (wǒguó, “our country; our China”) in a patriotic context, and also as a way to express their dissenting stance and disdain towards the country's ruling communist regime, with the first-person pronoun 我 (wǒ, “I; our”) replaced by the second-person pronoun 你 (nǐ, “you; your”) to express alienness to the China as extolled by those commentators.[1]
- It should be noted that nationalist Chinese netizens would find this term profoundly offensive.
