  1. (Hokkien) the four traditional Chinese medicine herbs, Paeonia lactiflora (白芍), Rehmannia (熟地), Angelica sinensis (當歸当归), and Ligusticum striatum (川芎), often stewed with meat to make a Chinese herbal soup, 四物湯四物汤 (sù-bu̍t-thng / sì-bu̍t-thng).
