From 大腹餅 (だいふくもち, daifuku mochi, big stomach mochi (“very filling mochi”)), by replacing (ふく, fuku, stomach) by homophone (ふく, fuku, luck).

Previously 腹太餅 (はらぶともち, harabuto mochi (“very filling mochi”), stomach fat mochi).[1]
