Etymology[edit]
Aydemir (2019) reconstructs underlying ethnonym *Arki ~ *Yarki, which he proposes to be etymologically Indo-European and also underlies Mandarin 月支 (Yuèzhī, literally “Moon Branch”) and various other transcriptions (Chinese and non-Chinese) and Tocharian A arśi.
