牙買加牙买加 (Yámǎijiā) is attested in 海國圖志 [1843–1852] and 瀛寰志略 [1849].

An earlier form, 牙賣加牙卖加, which is attested in Kunyu Wanguo Quantu [1602], is possibly borrowed from Latin Iamaica.
